A diligent music historian has claims to have uncovered details of a band that seminal bassist Nile Rodgers has not collaborated with.
Dr Neil Anderson made the claim on the night Rodgers proficiently presented the award for Best Solo Female Award at the 2019 Brits. Dr Anderson said that his finding was suitable reward for years of research trying to find a band that Rodgers hadn’t applied his uplifting bass sound to.
“I almost gave up. I had scoured every possible back catalogue with a fine tooth comb. But then I found a 1980’s pub circuit band called The Scuff from Solihull. Niles wasn’t credited in any of their body of work. I was amazed.” Dr Anderson added. “No funky resonating bass – nothing”
When approached, Mr Rodgers was very keen to address the matter “Hey man! This cat will put his unique brand of funky jazz bass with any band! Call me”
